Here is some info on the island foxes, i am not going to list it all at once but i will keep on adding. To properly name this fox you would call it the island fox not the Channel Island Fox. The reason for the is because of it is classified. The island fox is the smallest fox in North America, the the fennec fox being the smallest in the world. The size of the island fox is about that of a regular house cat, but in order to see and actually understand how small it is you would have to see it in person. It will truly shock you how small they. They are extremely cute, especially when one stood up on its hind legs and looked at me. The island fox is an endagered species and is protected by law. They are not as shy as foxes on the mainland because there are people don't live on the island they only camp there. The fox live on 6 out of the 8 islands, it doesn't live on Santa Barbara or Anacapa Islands because they are to small and have no running water. the last thing i am going to mention for today is that the closest related fox to them is the gray fox, and there is a close resembelence, the only real visible difference is the size.
